Live your purpose, passion & vision!
It was one year ago this week, after a lot of soul searching, I decided to just take a big, deep breath, close my eyes, and jump off the mountain – despite my fear of heights and speed.
It wasn’t the first time I’d made a BIG transition that no one expected. But, it felt like it. I knew it was either the most irresponsible or courageous thing I’d done so far.
The stakes were high. People thought I was nuts. I left a respected, secure, well-paying SVP & General Counsel position with a large company.
“People don’t just do this,” they said. “They don’t walk away at the pinnacle of their career.” “How about a vacation instead?”
On the other hand, I’d never set out for a particular destination, position or title. It always seemed to work out so long as I took the 1st fully committed, strategic step. Then the proverbial doors would open and life would just compel what then became the obvious.
I was hoping life would repeat this pattern. It did.
Why am I sharing this?
I want to affirm what YOU may be feeling in your heart but may not feel comfortable saying out loud. Often we keep these gut-feelings to ourselves, because we hate to complain, be ungrateful, or rock the boat.
So, we tend to tread water indefinitely, waiting to see what else might come along. Or, we get kind of complacent and “okay” with feeling stuck or uninspired. Does this sound familiar? If so, you’re not alone.
First of all, acknowledging that you’re ready for deeper fulfillment, meaning or challenge is NOT complaining or being ungrateful. It’s growing. It’s proactively architecting your life and your path toward greater fulfillment – creatively and in a way that conforms to your purpose, passion, and values.
The Facts & the Good News
- We needn’t settle for conventional “success.”
- We can and should take calculated risks.
- We can REIGNITE our purpose, passion, and realign our life – professionally & personally.
- You absolutely can feel ALIVE again.
How?
Just jump … into strategic visioning, planning and then action. It need not be drastic. Any action, over a sustained period of time, will create traction and results. I promise.
What Now?
Well, I feel vibrantly alive again, every single day. I serve others every day, helping them create a new vision, a strategic plan, and then I watch them take flight. It’s exhilarating. It feels like soaring. Every. Single. Day.
It’s YOUR TURN.
I invite you to find YOUR fulfillment, your wings, and soar. It may be right where you are, just untapped. Or it may involve a bigger transition over time.
